Hello! I’m Ashley.

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Birth & Postpartum Doula

I am a whole foods Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, a doula, and a regenerative farmer on the side 🙂 I am mother to two beautiful toddler boys, Teddy & Vinny, and wife to an incredibly supportive husband Dylan who loves to bop around our 5 acre homestead with our family.

My love affair with good food began in the kitchen with my dad, and has evolved over a span of 20 years. Although I began my college career pursuing teaching, I quickly found my home in the dietetics department at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. I graduated with a BS in Dietetics in 2014, and completed my 1200 hour dietetic internship through University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2015. Through this internship, I excelled in rotations in medical nutrition therapy in the hospital/clinic setting, community nutrition, and foodservice management.

I love sharing recipes, chatting about cooking techniques, and giving real-life tips and tricks to support long-term lifestyle change. My individual counseling style is multifaceted; first, we dive deep into the root causes of your unique picture with extensive inquiry about you as a whole person. Then, guided by your goals and priorities, we partner to put together a whole-person centered plan including nutrition, lifestyle, stress management, and evidence-based supplementation when whole foods cannot meet certain needs.

I have been deeply passionate about birth work since I was pregnant with my first child. Other than my family, I had no village going through new motherhood with me. I didn’t know much at all about pregnancy, birth, and all the choices Dylan and I would have to make as expecting parents. It took me a long time to find resources in my community, and being a mom was isolating at first. I struggled deeply with postpartum mood disorders after both my boys were born. My passion is to help women distinguish what is and what is not normal, and to feel their best during this upheaval of identity, which is both beautiful and jarring. I hold women up, and relish in the opportunity to help build villages around new families.

When I am not with my beautiful clients, you can find me with dirt under my fingernails on our 5 acre regenerative homestead in Black Creek. Or watering and propagating my ever-growing (see what I did there?) houseplant collection. Or macrame-ing (is that a verb?) Or feeding my sweet children, because snacks seem to take up our whole life!
